# Google Analytics in ninedot

Visitors next to revenue, from GA4. The GA4 properties you share with ninedot's service account, and each one's users and pageviews over the last 30 days and the 30 before.

## What you get
- Users and pageviews, last 30 days, with the change on the 30 days before (measured)
- Active users per day, lined up with the days that brought new subscriptions (measured)

## Limits
- Google Analytics uses a service account you create and add to each property as a Viewer; there's no simple key.
- A property is matched to a business by its web stream's address.
- Nothing is ever changed in Google Analytics.

## Connecting

Key: Service account key (JSON), read-only. Read-only Analytics scope; the service account is a Viewer on the properties you choose.
Create it at https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/serviceaccounts, then paste it in ninedot → Vault → Google Analytics → Connect. It is checked, encrypted at rest and only ever read by ninedot's servers.

## Questions
**Why a service account instead of signing in with Google?** It gives ninedot read-only access to exactly the properties you add it to, with nothing tied to your own Google account, and you can remove it any time in Google Analytics.
