analytics integration

Google Analytics in ninedot.

Visitors next to revenue, from GA4. The GA4 properties you share with ninedot's service account, and each one's users and pageviews over the last 30 days and the 30 before.

What you need

Service account key (JSON).

Read-only Analytics scope; the service account is a Viewer on the properties you choose.

Create it at console.cloud.google.com
Read-only · the key itself can be limited to read · disconnect any time

What you get

  • measuredUsers and pageviews, last 30 days, with the change on the 30 days before
  • measuredActive users per day, lined up with the days that brought new subscriptions

Exact is read straight from Google Analytics. Measured is derived from usage or a rolling 30-day window. Only those two are ever counted. Where Google Analytics can't report a bill, ninedot suggests the plan's list price and you confirm what you pay. That figure counts in your own totals, marked Confirmed by you, and is never shown as verified.

Connecting takes a few minutes

  1. Create a Service account key (JSON)Read-only Analytics scope; the service account is a Viewer on the properties you choose. Create it at console.cloud.google.com.
  2. Paste it in the VaultIn ninedot, open Vault → Google Analytics → Connect. The key is checked, encrypted at rest and only ever read by ninedot's servers.
  3. Put it on a businessninedot suggests which business each service belongs to, by domain or name. Accept it in one click, or link it by hand.

Limits, honestly

  • Google Analytics uses a service account you create and add to each property as a Viewer; there's no simple key.
  • A property is matched to a business by its web stream's address.
  • Nothing is ever changed in Google Analytics.

Questions

Why a service account instead of signing in with Google?
It gives ninedot read-only access to exactly the properties you add it to, with nothing tied to your own Google account, and you can remove it any time in Google Analytics.
Can an AI agent read this too?
Yes. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code connect through ninedot's MCP server and get the same figures with the same trust levels. Agents can never change your Google Analytics account.
